Shop Steward Election     

    The election for the Chief and Assistant elected shop stewards for the UPS Latham building was held on Sunday, February 5, 2012.  The results are as follows:

Shawn Nolan                    58         52%
Tim Quinn                        53         48%

  There were 118 votes cast with no ballots disqualified.  Congratulations to Chuck and Shawn..

New Medco Mail Order Pharmacy Requirements    

   The NYS Teamsters Benefit Funds announced in late 2010 that as of January 1, 2011 Medco, the administrator of the prescription drug program, is requiring all maintenance drug prescriptions to be filled by mail order pharmacy.  Maintenance drugs would include those taken on a long term basis such as for blood pressure, cholesterol, etc.   Drugs taken on a short term basis such as antibiotics would still be allowed to be filled at local pharmacies. Medco is allowing a  3 purchase maximum of long term drugs at local pharmacies.  After that prescriptions must be filled through Medco mail order or  the full price of the drug will be charged.  For more information, call Medco at (800) 939-2108.  A mail order pharmacy form and instructions can be found here.

Pension Projection Request Letter Updated     

    The fill-in letter to request pension projections from the NYS Teamsters Conference Pension & Retirement Fund has been updated to reflect the changes to the fund commencing on 1/1/11. Click here to download it.

Upstate NY Teamsters Pension Committee                                          

   The above named committee has been formed in the Latham building to provide information to all members of the NYS Teamsters Pension Fund about the upcoming changes to the Fund in order to make the best choices possible in the decisions that will affect our families, lifestyles and futures.  To that end, the UNYTPC has just created a website: www.unytpc.org .

   There is a Local 294 general membership meeting on Sunday, June 3, 2012 @ 10:00 am at the Union Hall.
